Owned and operated by Michael Houar, a licensed contractor for over 25 years, the North State Solar Energy team has been involved with the design and installation of over 582 solar projects. OUR TEAM:

Michael Houar is the President of North State Solar as well as the Responsible Managing Owner. He has been a General Contractor for over twenty-five years and has also owned an electrical contracting firm. He has been involved with installation of Photovoltaic projects in California and Hawaii for the past several years. He earned his MBA from Hawaii Pacific University and earned an MA from University of Hawaii, Manoa in Political Science. His work in the remodeling industry with appropriate technology has incorporated passive solar principles and energy efficiency solutions into dozens of construction projects during the past two decades. Michael has also served as the President of Hawaiian Repair and Remodeling, Inc. of Honolulu, Hawaii, and has designed and installed projects in Honolulu, Maui, Lanai, and Northern California.

Sheri Kidwell is General Manager of North State Solar Energy. She holds a degree in Environmental Science, and conducts all required field tests of systems installed in Northern California. Sheri spent 10 years in the Health Care and Health Care Management fields, developing strong customer relations skills and also a desire to bring solutions to challenging situations. In her role working directly with clients Sheri assists to insure system monitoring is functioning properly and to regularly communicate with clients to provide system service when needed.

Arthur Hernandez is Construction Superintendent and has been active in Project Management for over 15 years. Arthur has worked in the field in direct design and installation of Photovoltaic Solutions for residential and agricultural systems. Working with his crews and managing construction projects throughout Northern California, Arthur brings a commitment to customer satisfaction and attention to details that define his projects as unique and trouble free, overcoming challenges inherent in remote project situations.

Our team has been involved with the design and installation of over two hundred photovoltaic projects and works daily to provide outstanding value and service for all of our customers.
